Salary: £97,377 - £107,625 + Relocation

We are looking for an outstanding leader to join our Executive team. We are on an exciting journey of improvement as we move “Towards 2025” and strive to deliver outstanding policing for our communities. The Director of Finance and Assets role is integral to supporting the Chief Constable achieve the vision of delivering outstanding policing for our communities.

We’re looking for a high performing and experienced senior finance professional who has supported a complex organisation to identify and realise significant improvements, whilst delivering its key priorities. As well as leading teams to perform at their very best, you’ll be responsible for taking our finances into the future, with direct responsibility for the leadership and management of the Finance, ICT, Procurement & Fleet, Estates and Facilities, and Business Continuity and Risk functions. As our s.151 Officer your expert finance knowledge will enable you to provide high-level financial advice and guidance to inform business critical decisions, whilst contributing to the corporate leadership of Cleveland Police by leading strategic initiatives that support our long-term vision.

You’ll be a robust, professional leader with demonstrable experience of operating as a Director of Finance, or an aspiring Assistant Director of Finance, who has managed and led significant change across a broad remit. You’ll be CCAB-qualified, or equivalent, analytical, creative and politically aware. You’ll be an ambassador for the organisation, with excellent leadership and people skills and a clear customer focus.

The Cleveland Police area has an award-winning coastline, with Saltburn-by-the-Sea named as the UK’s best beach in 2021. It is surrounded by spectacular countryside, and vibrant market towns, heaped in deep industrial history and heritage. The Cleveland Police patch is also home to big business, hosting the largest chemical complex in the UK and some of the globe’s biggest chemical manufacturers.
